Overcome Anxiety
Anxiety is an emotion, just like being sad, mad or happy are emotions. Only robots are never anxious.
But overcoming anxiety is not easy, especially when the anxiety tries to dominate your life. Some people start to have a fear of the fear. They don’t like anxiety and they start to avoid everything that might make them anxious.
I’ve had that for 14 years and because of the anxiety I almost never left my house (I had panic attacks, agoraphobia and social phobia).
So how do you overcome anxiety?
First you need to monitor your inner dialogue. You can make your anxiety worse when you think things like “oh no, what’s happening to me? Why am I anxious? How should I react…” Anxious thoughts will of course add additional anxiety to the problem.
Are you making yourself more anxious?
To overcome anxiety you don’t need to take any pills, or to overcome anxiety you don’t need any miracle cures. They don’t exist.
What you need to overcome anxiety is a specific set of thoughts you can use when you are anxious (I will give them to you, don’t worry) AND you need to find the causes of your anxiety. If you have anxiety symptoms when you’re anxious (like a pounding heart, nausea, dizziness, a feeling as if you are going to faint etc) then it is crucial that you find the causes of those anxiety symptoms.
